Removal
1.
Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for at least 30 seconds before beginning to work.
2.
To remove the locking mechanism (A), using a flatheaded (-) screwdriver (B), turn it counter clockwise from the emergency fastening device (EFD) system (C).

3.
Remove the door scuff trim.
(Refer to Body - "Door scuff trim")
4.
Remove the center pillar trim.
(Refer to Body - "Center pillar trim")
5.
Disconnect the EFD connector (A).

6.
Loosen the EFD mounting bolt (B) and remove the anchor pretensioner.
Installation
1.
Remove ignition key from the vehicle.
2.
Disconnect the negative (-) cable from battery and wait for at least thirty seconds.
3.
Install the EFD with a bolt.

Tightening torque :
39.2 ~ 53.9 N.m (4.0 ~ 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 ~ 39.8 lb-ft)

4.
Connect the EFD connector.
5.
Install the center pillar trim.
(Refer to Body - "Center pillar trim")
6.
Install the door scuff trim.
(Refer to Body - "Door scuff trim")
7.
Insert the seat belt to the EFD (A).

   
Make sure that the lock pin is connected properly.
8.
Reconnect the battery negative cable.
9.
After installing the EFD, confirm proper system operation:
Turn the ignition switch ON; the SRS indicator light should be turned on for about six seconds and then go off.
