Removal and Installation
1.
Remove the engine room under cover and engine room RH side cover.
(Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")
2.
Remove the RH side front wheel.
(Refer to Suspension System - "Wheel")
3.
Remove the drive belt.
(Refer to Timing System - "Drive Belt")
4.
Remove the crankshaft damper pulley (A).

Tightening torque :
284.4 ~ 304.0 N.m (29.0 ~ 31.0 kgf.m, 209.8 ~ 224.2 lb-ft)

   
There are two methods to hold the ring gear when installing or removing the crankshaft damper pulley.
•
Install the SST (09231-2B100) to hold the ring gear after removing the starter.

•
Install the SST (09231-3D100, 09231-2W100) to hold the ring gear after removing the dust cover.
1)
Remove the front muffler.
(Refer to Intake And Exhaust System - "Muffler")
2)
Remove the dust cover (A) on the bottom of the upper oil pan and unfasten the two transaxle mounting bolts (B).

3)
Adjust the length of the holder nuts (A) so that the front place of the holder (B) matches with the ring gear (C) tooth pattern.
4)
Fasten the two transaxle mounting bolts in the original mounted holes.

5)
Install the SST (09231-3D100, 09231-2W100) using the two mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts and nuts of the holder securely.

5.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Inspection
Check the pulleys for vibration in rotation and V-ribbed part for oil or dust deposit. Replace if necessary.
