Removal
PODS-F ODU (Occupant Detection Unit)
1.
Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning to work.
2.
Remove the front passenger seat assembly.
(Refer to Body - "Front seat")
3.
Disconnect the PODS-F ODU connector.
4.
Remove the PODS-F ODU.
PODS-F Mat
1.
Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning to work.
2.
Remove the front passenger seat assembly.
(Refer to Body - "Front seat")
3.
Disconnect the PODS-F mat connector.
4.
Remove the front seat cushion assembly
(Refer to Body - "Front seat cushion cover")
Installation
PODS-F ODU
1.
Install the PODS-F ODU on the Front seat track assembly.
2.
Connect the PODS-F ODU connector.
3.
Install the front passenger seat assembly.
(Refer to Body - "Front seat")
4.
Reconnect the battery negative cable.
5.
After installing the PODS-F, confirm proper system operation :
•
Turn the ignition switch ON the SRS indicator should be turned on for about six seconds and then go off.
•
Telltale lamp will turn on for 4 seconds and then off for 3 seconds. After the 7 seconds, it shall remain off if the PODS-F does not require suppression and the passenger airbag is enabled.
   
Be sure to perform PODS-F reset with GDS after replacing PODS-F ODU in the seat track.
PODS-F Mat
1.
Install the PODS-F Mat equipped seat cushion assembly on the front seat assembly.
(Refer to Body - "Front seat")
2.
Connect the PODS-F mat connector.
3.
Install the front passenger seat assembly.
(Refer to Body - "Front seat")
4.
Reconnect the battery negative cable.
5.
After installing the PODS-F, confirm proper system operation :
•
Turn the ignition switch ON the SRS indicator should be turned on for about six seconds and then go off.
•
Telltale lamp will turn on for 4 seconds and then off for 3 seconds. After the 7 seconds, it shall remain off if the PODS-F does not require suppression and the passenger airbag is enabled.
   
Be sure to perform PODS-F zeroing with GDS after replacing PODS-F equipped seat cushion.
PODS-F zeroing Procedure
PODS-F re-zeroing procedure should be performed after servicing or replacing all parts of the passenger seat.

Seat assembly, Seat foam and Seat Cushion Assembly Replacement (PODS-F ODU No Replacement): C1[Auto]
–
PODS-F ODU Replacement: C2[Manual]:
C1[Auto] Procedure
1.
Turn ignition "OFF", and connect GDS.
2.
Turn ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF", and then select Airbag system and "PODS-F Reset" mode.

3.
Select C1.
C1[Auto] : When replacing seat assembly or Seat foam.

4.
The GDS will show the two PODS-F Zeroing function steps.
(1)
Erase PODS-F diagnostic codes.
(2)
PODS-F initialization.

   
PODS-F re-zeroing procedure must be performed when the front passenger seat is empty.
5.
The PODS-F initialization procedure will be performed.

[Heater type]

[No heater type]

[Vent heater type]

   
Erase the SRSCM diagnostic codes after completing the PODS-F zeroing.
C2[Manual] Procedure
1.
Turn ignition "OFF", and connect GDS.
2.
Turn ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF", and then select Airbag system and "PODS-F Reset" mode.

3.
Select C2.
C2[Manual]: When replacing PODS-F ODU

4.
Select seat type.

5.
The GDS will show the two PODS-F Zeroing function steps.
(1)
Erase PODS-F diagnostic codes.
(2)
PODS-F initialization.

   
PODS-F re-zeroing procedure must be performed when the front passenger seat is empty.
6.
The PODS-F initialization procedure will be performed.

[Heater type]

[No heater type]

[Vent heater type]

   
Erase the SRSCM diagnostic codes after completing the PODS-F zeroing
   
In case of zeroing failure

Fail Code 2 : PODS ECU Fault
–
Fail Code 3 : Sensor short
–
Fail Code 4 : Sensor open
–
Fail Code 8 : Wet seat
–
Fail Code 9 : Empty seat or seat type mismatch
–
Fail Code 10 : Electronic noise is too much
–
Fail Code A : Spilt water on the Seat
–
Fail Code B : Wet Seat foam
–
Fail Code D : Humidity is too High
–
Fail Code E : Temperature is too low
