Inspection

Troubleshooting for Speaker

Basic inspection of speaker
Inspect the sound from speaker after verifying that the speaker mounting screws are removed and the wiring connector is connected precisely to eliminate vibration transmitted from body trims and surrounding parts.

Trembling sound
1)
Before replacing the speaker, inspect that the mounting screws are installed properly.
2)
After re-installing the speaker, verify that no trembling sound is heard.
3)
When a trembling sound is heard again, replace the speaker with new one.

Noise
1)
Check if the wiring connector is connected properly. If not, reconnect the wiring connector.
2)
In case of radio static, check if there is a noise from CD player.
3)
When a noise is heard on turning radio on, replace the speaker with a new one.
   
If the noise is related to radio static only, this must be coming from poor radio reception. In this case, there is no need for repair or replacement.

Poor performance
Inspection of the wiring connection between the battery and the speaker
1)
Before replacing the speaker, inspect the wiring and connections in the speaker circuit.
2)
Check the supplying power to the speaker and the resistance, and then inspect the sound quality.

If the speaker works poorly, replace it with a new one.

During dealing of speaker
–
Dropping or rough handling of the speaker can cause damage.
–
Be careful not to cover water and oil over the speaker.
–
Caution when dealing with speakers as the diaphragm is made of paper and can be easily torn by impact and external force.
–
When modifying audio system as customer pleases, this does electric damage to speaker.
–
And, in this case the speakers are not covered by the manufacturer''s warranty.
Removal
   
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
   
•
When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.
•
Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces to protect from marring the surface.
•
Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
Front Speaker
   
Take care not to scratch the crash pad and related parts.
1.
Remove the front door trim.
(Refer to Body - "Front Door Trim")
2.
Disconnect the front speaker connector (A).

3.
Remove the front speaker (A) after loosening the screws.

Rear Speaker
   
Take care not to scratch the crash pad and related parts.
1.
Remove the luggage side trim.
(Refer to Body - "Luggage Side Trim")
2.
Remove the rear speaker (B) after disconnecting the connector (A) and loosening the screws.

Crash Pad Center Speaker
   
Take care not to scratch the crash pad and related parts.
1.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pad center speaker grille (A).

2.
Remove the crash pad center speaker (A) after loosening the screws.

3.
Disconnect the crash pad center speaker connector (A).

Tweeter Speaker (Crash Pad)
   
Take care not to scratch the crash pad and related parts.
1.
Remove the main crash pad assembly.
(Refer to Body - "Main Crash Pad Assembly")
2.
Remove the left/right crash pad side speaker grille (A).

3.
Remove the tweeter speaker (A) after loosening the screws.

Sub Woofer Speaker
   
Take care not to scratch the crash pad and related parts.
1.
Remove the left luggage side trim.
(Refer to Body - "Luggage Side Trim")
2.
Disconnect the sub woofer speaker connector (A).

3.
Remove the sub woofer speaker (A) after loosening the nuts.

Installation
Front Speaker
1.
Install the front speaker.
2.
Connect the front speaker connector.
3.
Install the front door trim.
Rear Speaker
1.
Install the rear speaker.
2.
Connect the rear speaker connector.
3.
Install the luggage side trim.
Crash Pad Center Speaker
1.
Connect the crash pad center speaker connector.
2.
Install the crash pad center speaker.
3.
Install the crash pad center speaker grille.
Tweeter Speaker (Crash Pad)
1.
Install the tweeter speaker.
2.
Install the crash pad side speaker grille.
3.
Install the main crash pad assembly.
Sub Woofer Speaker
1.
Install the sub woofer speaker.
2.
Connect the sub woofer speaker connector.
3.
Install the left luggage side trim.
   
•
Make sure that the connectors are connected properly.
•
Check the AVN system.
