Third generation YP (2014-2024) / Kia Sedona YP Service Manual / Heating,Ventilation And Air Conditioning / Rear Heater / Rear Heater Unit Repair procedures

Replacement
1.
Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
2.
Recover the refrigerant with a recovery/ recycling/ charging station.
3.
When the engine is cool, drain the engine coolant from the radiator.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - “Coolant”)
4.
Remove the luggage side trim [RH].
(Refer to Body - "Luggage Side Trim")
5.
Remove the rear heater duct (A) after loosening the bolts.

6.
Disconnect the rear refrigerant line (A) after loosening the nut.

Tightening torque : 6.9 ~ 10.8 N.m ( 0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 ~ 8.0 Ib-ft)

   
Plug or cap the lines immediately after disconnecting them to avoid moisture and dust contamination.
When installing, replace with a new O-ring (B).
7.
Disconnect the rear heater main connector (A).

8.
Disconnect the rear heater hose (A) from rear heater core.

   
Engine coolant will run out when the hoses are disconnected; drain it into a clean drip pan. Be sure not to let coolant spill on electrical parts or painted surfaces. If any coolant spills, rinse it off immediately.
9.
Remove the rear heater & A/C unit (A) after loosening the nuts.

10.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
