Kia Sedona: Blind Spot Detection Unit Repair procedures
Blind spot detection (BSD) unit
1.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Be careful when removing the blind spot detection unit. The bracket may break off from the bumper.
2.
Remove the rear bumper.
(Refer to Body - "Rear Bumper Cover")
3.
Disconnect the BSD connector (A) from the BSD unit.
4.
Remove the BSD assembly (A) after loosening the mounting nuts.
When removing the BSD unit, be careful not to damage the bracket of BSD.
Blind spot detection (BSD) unit
1.
Place the RH and LH radar sensors on each side to get ready for installation.
2.
Install the radar sensor to the bracket correctly (distinguish RH & LH) with mounting nuts.
The shapes of the LH and RH blind spot detection units are
different. Therefore, take notice when installing the blind spot
detection units.
Radar Sensors must be closed up against the bracket completely.
After mounting radar sensors, check for a wobble.
3.
Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Description
To correctly sense vehicles on the neighboring lanes using
the radar, the direction of the sensor and the direction of the vehicle
must be aligned.
